Doing Jiujitsu and Judo Cheap

On September 2016, this is what I noticed. I will update this like once a year.

Just to make it clear. Real training 3 times a week (or more) will NEVER be replaced by trying to do it for free or be cheap. In addition, some places have lots of students and its best to fight MANY students because you want to fight someone better than you and who is bigger. In real life, the person you may fight in real life might be that size you were avoiding. I have met many people half my size who could kick my butt. This website and club are not meant to compete with with anybody --- club is the key word here. My goal is to help people who can't afford it, an introduction to eventual training somewhere professionally, or goof around and learn new skills. Like a computer club doesn't compete with computer companies, some here but for jiujitsu, judo, catch wrestling, or similar.

I want to visit a lot of places that have free mats to help you figure out what you like. Not to take advantage of them.

This groupTotally free.
Stanford BJJ $140 quarterly fee, per 3 months, about $35 a month. Anybody can go. Sunday, 2PM-4PM, and Monday and Wednesday, 9:15PM-11:00PM
Stanford Judo $140 quarterly fee, per 3 months, about $35 a month. Anybody can go. Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-9PM, Fridays from 7:15-9 PM, and on Saturdays from 12-2PM
San Jose Buddhist Judo Club I think it is $40 a month. MONDAY AND THURSDAY from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Palo Alto Judo Club I think it is $40 a month, related to the san jose club.
Hip Hop Chess Federation Not sure what the long term or what the prices are. I know they have kids classes and they are non profit. Found a groupon ad.
RochaThey offer $30 a month for nonprofit. Basically I guess if you can't afford it? Its in Oakland.
NEED TO CHECK. bay jiujitsu I think those classes are open to everyone. And their pricing isn't bad and worth a mention. Look at the bottom and the best is the 12 month deals.
http://www.mission22.com/ Sometimes someone sponsors an open mat in the bay area for them. High level black belts show their stuff.

Businesses with free days

http://www.jitsclub.com/ CLOSED -- i think. Was advertising free open mat on sundays in Livermore, ca. 11 to 3 pm. Their website seems to have problems sometimes, so their address it 3191 Independence Dr. Livermore, CA 94551. https://www.facebook.com/jitsclubcheckmat/
Heroes Martial Arts I didn't link it because they only sometimes have free classes in the park. If I had a fixed link I would put it here. Check out their Facebooks page, they might announe them there.
Ralph Gracie in SF Again, sometimes they have free open mat on sundays, so I left it unlinked.
One World Jiu-Jitsu in Union City They might still have open mat on Sundays from 6 to 8.
Guerrilla Jiujitsu Possible marathon rolling from 6 to 8 on tuesdays. Need to verify this. Not sure.
UFC sunnyvale gymEvery major fight, they have free time usually for jiujitsu before the fight. 7 to 9? 6 to 8? Forget.

Other websites

https://www.facebook.com/BJJOpenMats/ A open mat facebook group in Los Angeles. Also, http://bjjopenmats.com/.

Note: Blue is free and Green costs a little bit.

Just a side note, a lot of jiujitsu people aren't good at takedowns, including me, and don't know how to get out of a Kase Gatame or how to do it properly. Judo is very related to jiujitsu and its good if you have the time to do it. Don't quote me on prices above as I think its close to the price as I remember it. It may have changed.
